Introduction
Slide 1:
Hello everyone, my name is… and today my topic of presentation is legal and ethical change presentation. Ethics are considered as a significant part of healthcare system and their negligence may cause serious issues in the healthcare system.
Legal/Ethical Change Presentation
Slide 2:
To implement the change plan, the process will be done within 6 months and will be further subdivided into three stages. The current levels of awareness of both HIPAA and social media will be used as a baseline to measure the initial awareness of those members of the group, to determine where there are gaps in their awareness of the two subjects. The intention of Phase II is to create a tool that can be used to assist the digital professionalism of the faculty and staff members of the group in addition to creating other types of tools that will support a culture of learning based on the use of evidence and best practices through the use of workshops, case studies and the development of policy-driven practices for creating education opportunities for all members of the group. Analysis of the experience of the group will be carried out in an ongoing fashion, even during Phase III when the confidentiality policy is in action, and the same will be carried out by faculty leadership throughout the whole process of the plan implementation.
Slide 3:
Specifically, culturally sensitive approaches are linked with the teaching material presented in multiple languages, the development of case studies that could be applied to different cases, as well as the usage of special training programs that could be offered depending on the individual’s peculiarities. Mentoring will assist the learners in knowing what type of behavior to have when communicating with other individuals using technology, as well as how to keep confidentiality. The cultural evaluation would involve the use of tools that would aim at gauging cultural appropriateness in behavior modification amongst people (Ulbricht et al., 2024). Consequently, all aspects of confidentiality training would suit the needs of all learners.
Evaluation and Sustainability Monitoring Plan
Slide 4:
An evaluative approach to the proposed intervention, integrated with the quantitative and qualitative research design, would be the method that would determine the effectiveness of the proposed intervention. A few examples entail carrying out pre- and post-knowledge tests to see whether there are any improvements in terms of knowledge gains, as well as incident reports to see whether there are any reductions in terms of confidentiality violations. Surveys and focus group interviews would be used to get the experiences of the learners and their perceptions towards digital professionalism.
Slide 5:
The training updates, once a year, and application of the policies and compliance would also guarantee the sustainability of the proposed intervention (Conduah et al., 2025). The possible indicators of the purposes of the evaluation would involve a decrease in the number of HIPAA violations, an increase in the number of knowledge assessment scores, and compliance with the institutional policy.
Legal and Ethical Issues Requiring Behavioral Change
Slide 6:
In case of breach of confidentiality on social media websites, breach of HIPAA could have legal repercussions for the organizations. Besides the cost implications of fines, penalties, and termination, there are also significant implications that may be faced by the organization whenever it fails to adhere to the federal legislation and regulations (Office for Civil Rights, 2026). Furthermore, companies that overlook the need to take any preventive actions against the occurrence of such infringements are also subject to potential liability for the crime being committed, or their image might be tarnished. An example, however, was when a nurse student posted a patient-associated story, but indirectly, on social media, which was in violation of the HIPAA rules.
Slide 7:
Ethically, breach of confidentiality is an ethically inappropriate behavior of some of the most crucial ethical principles in the nursing field, such as personal autonomy and professionalism. In order to support the level of professional ethics, the ANA Code of Ethics suggests that nurses should remain secretive about patient data and maintain a decent professional distance at every moment (American Nurses Association, 2025). These values should not be violated, as the reputation of the profession as a whole and its ability to provide high-quality services will be ruined. Using the example, it is unethical both in personal autonomy and professionalism to disclose the personal story of a person on the Internet and apply it as a learning tool without his/her consent. The problem requires the interventions of the individual and the organizational levels.
Necessary Changes and Change Management Integration
Slide 8:
Behavior change will involve stopping the sharing of data about the patient via social media and being highly observant of the policy of confidentiality; developing the ability to think critically and ethically. These behavioral modifications will be in line with the Lewin Change Theory in terms of awareness, education, and continuous follow-up on adherence (Majka, 2024). Moreover, the organizational support will be required as far as mainstreaming the sustainability of such changes is concerned.
Resource Information Synthesis for Change Implementation
Slide 9:
To be effectively undertaken, it entails a combination of both learning resources and technology, as well as institutional resources. The scientific education applied in this scenario is that of simulation-based learning, technology in the field of professionalism training, and the cases (Ibrahim et al., 2024). The assessment and provision of this training can be done through institutional resources with the help of such techniques as policy, legislation, LMS, and reporting without identities (Conduah et al., 2025). All these resources, when used as discussed above, will be able to alleviate the issue of ignorance and behavior modification.
Knowledge Gaps and Areas of Uncertainty
Slide 10:
Gaps related to the advantages gained from the professional development program in digital professionalism, as well as the link between social diversity and confidentiality, are evident. Data about the impact of the use of technology in ethical decision-making by the students have not been adequately generated, and this may be one of the issues that the nursing education program will face in the future (Choi, 2026). Consistency may be impacted by the policies of different organizations, and this is why problems arise in most institutions. Evidence-based ways that can be used to solve this issue include.
Culturally Sensitive Issues and Evidence-Based Interventions
Slide 11:
There are gaps in terms of the benefits acquired during the professional development program within the area of digital professionalism, and how social diversity and confidentiality are connected. Data on how the usage of technology has affected the ethical decision-making aspect among the students is lacking, and this may be one of the issues where the nursing education program will clash in the future (Choi, 2026). Policies of different institutions are likely to influence uniformity, and this is one of the factors that lead to the development of issues in most institutions. Ways to solve this issue, which can be evidence-based, include. The values of communication and privacy can be used to identify the level of confidentiality to be ensured. Based on the literature accessed on confidentiality laws, it has become apparent that an increase in the behavior of individuals due to the social sensitivity training programs is being witnessed (Vandecasteele et al., 2024). Every scenario of cultures will be provided, and even seminars about social awareness will be held. It would make sure that everybody would be informed on how to use the principle of confidentiality appropriately.
Conclusion
Slide 12:
Any possible violations of confidentiality in nurse education can be eradicated only with the help of the holistic approach to the issues through the evidence-based approach, which is linked to adherence to legal requirements and ethical issues, along with personal and social qualities of the individuals. This way of handling the issue can be applied within the Lewin Change Model and, therefore, a comfortable working environment in the digital era can be provided in a way that would not cause the breach of patient confidentiality. Also, proper facilities should be made available to evaluate the issues and educate the upcoming leaders.
